Juergen Illerhaus studied biophysics, physical chemistry, and plant physiology at the university of Freiburg, Germany. After finishing the doctoral thesis in biophysics and some years as postdoc at the university, he started his industry career as product manager for process analytical instruments at Mettler Toledo. In his role as head of product management and business development at SOTAX, a company producing instruments for quality control of solid dosage forms of pharmaceuticals, he gained deep insight into regulatory requirements in the pharmaceutical industry. Since 2021 he is working at BWT, a worldwide company specialized in drinking water processing for various applications. Within the BWT Pharma division he is responsible for product marketing and business development. In this role Jürgen is supporting the market introduction of new technologies especially for online bioburden monitoring in the pharmaceutical industry. Throughout the entire career Juergen Illerhaus was in charge of developing analytical instruments for quality control in pharmaceutical applications.
